WHY?
This poor, BEAUTIFUL (endangered species) tiger did NO wrong. It was minding its own business! It did what nature intended for him to do.
Well I am NOT going to say it, BUT you can see where I am going.
OK. Confession & full disclosure time. Yikes! [Smile]
I used to pet a Bengal tiger, through the fencing, at a zoo — Marwell Zoo in the U.K. I lived ‘next door’. [This was in the 1970s.] I used to go to the zoo, when I could, late in the day, & sit by the tiger’s cage. I used to talk to it, like I would to a dog. After awhile I reached over & used to pet its head. Was I stupid? Well, you know the answer to that. But, I am still alive & have all my limbs & the tiger was never harmed.
Why, did I confess to this. Because, I can empathize, even more than some, about the desire of wanting to stroke a majestic tiger.
But …
IF my arm was in a tiger’s mouth I would be yelling: ‘Don’t shoot the tiger. Don’t shoot the tiger!‘ I am pretty sure of that, but, yes, of course, none of us can be sure.
Couldn’t they have fired above its head just to scare it away.
A tranquilizer dart might have taken a few minutes to act — but wouldn’t it have been worth it.
The idiot — & yes, I know. Sorry.
