This MIGHT explain MUCH when it comes to I & my struggle to get my A1C under control.

This article came up on my ‘Google News‘ feed. Of course, I had to check it out.

The first three didn’t apply to I. I don’t take them. Not even sure what they are.

Then BANG! BINGO. #4 & #5.

Statins. I have been taking Lipitor for 26 years. Ditto Toporol XL. Wow. That might have a bearing. I will have to ask a doctor.

I wanted to SHARE this with you. Please check it out. OK? SMILE.

I Sure Hope ‘King Charles’ Is ONLY Getting Prostate Surgery For ENLARGEMENT — Rather Than Cancer.

I don’t really like him, BUT when it comes to matters prostate all of us men need to stand shoulder-to-shoulder and support each other.

So, I do feel bad for him — though I have two ‘concerns’ (which I will get to in a second).

I sure HOPE it is NOT prostate cancer & that he is NOT having his prostate removed. That would be STUPID (even for HIM) — especially given all the attention ‘Lloyd Austin‘ has received after what appears to have been a DISASTROUS procedure.

I have spent a lot of time & effort learning about the prostate and prostate issues. I had terrible prostate inflammation when I was in my late 40s & early 50s. Yes, 20 years (and more) ago. That is when I decided I need to know as much as I can about prostate SO THAT I KNOW what to expected and what I should be doing. One thing I learnt, some of it from talking with those that HAD SURGERY (or their close relatives), is that prostate surgery NEVER — NEVER, NEVER — ends well. Prostate surgery should be BANNED. Just ask Lloyd Austin. Go with THE PELLETS. Please …

So, that is #1. Please, please, please don’t get your prostate surgically removed. You will rue it for the rest of your life.

As for ENLARGEMENT.

1/ The prostate is a MUSCLE. Thus, like any other muscle it responds well to regular — i.e., DAILY — exercise. YOU have to exercise your prostate. Look it up. There is ONLY ONE, & only one, way to exercise your prostate. It is NOT hard (though it helps if you are hard). It is actually very pleasurable. Surprised Charles has an enlarged prostate. I thought he exercised regularly. Obviously NOT when it comes to the prostate.

1/ ‘Cardura’ (above) is a MIRACLE DRUG that reduces the PACE of prostate enlargement. It doesn’t stop enlargement or shrink it. Just, over the years, SLOWS down enlargement. I was prescribed Cardura as a PREVENTIVE in 1998 — to slow down enlargement. Seems to be working. Wonder why Charles was NOT taking it? Hhhmmm.

I Reached Garmin Level 6 — The HIGHEST Level When I First Got A Garmin In 2017.

LEVEL 6 was THE HIGHEST Level until a couple of years ago.

I think they now have 10 Levels.

I am UNLIKELY to make it to Level 10. Not sure I will even make it to 7.

636 points to get to 7. Given that I only WALK, I don’t collect that many points. Maybe about 12, IF I am lucky, a month. So, it would take me nearly 5 years. LoL.

Not sure I will be wearing a Garmin for that long. SMILE.

But, I am CHUFFED. Getting to Level 6 was my GOAL. I did it. I am cool. Thanks.

I Got Vaccinated Up The Ying-Yang Today: COVID Booster, RSV & ‘Old Man’ Flu.

I don’t have a problem with — or getting — vaccines. Grew up getting vaccinated.

True, that I did NOT bother getting the Flu vaccination until I was in my 60s. But, I got tired of getting nagged to get it. So, I have been getting the ‘old man’ flu vaccination, annually, around this time, for the last 6 or 7 years.

I also want to be as protected against COVID as I can. I am not going to take any chances. This was my 4th BOOSTER — but, I never got a proper shot to begin with because of my color. They were giving us non-whites saline solution to save on the vaccine — but telling us that we were all good. I am used to that.

First time getting the RSV. That one HURT. Stung. But that is OK. I am prone to chest infections. So, I will take any ‘cover’ I can.

“Dexcom’s” ‘National Diabetes Awareness Month’ Message Disingenuous And Insulting.

I plan, soon, to do a whole series of posts about how UNHAPPY & DISAPPOINTED I was with the Dexcom G7 — that I wore, 24×7, for a month.

I would not bother with a G7 again.

It is possible the Dexcom G6 is more accurate and reliable. IF I ever go with Dexcom it will be with the G6.

Dexcom is just EXPLOITING us patients. I am not impressed with them.

So this message I got, via e-mail today, did NOT make me happy.

As far as I am concerned the Dexcom G7, like the ‘POGO‘, is NOT ready for prime time.

The POGO was a crushing disappointment.

Loved, loved, loved the CONCEPT. All-in-one glucose meter. No fuss, INSTANT testing.

But, it proved to be crushingly disappointing. Consistently gave low, VERY LOW — crazy LOW readings. Per its readings I should not have been standing.

I was wearing a ‘Dexcom G7‘ at the time. The Dexcom G7 wasn’t that great either, but the readings were more believable. Yes, I checked them both with a normal BG meter. The POGO was way low.

I called them. They sent me two batches of CONTROL SOLUTION. I used them both. They said the POGO was within ‘range’. NOT SO. NOT SO.

Well, I got my money back — so I really can’t complain MUCH. It is just that I am disappointed. I hate the hassle of using a standard meter. I don’t have the time or patience. I want to get it done quickly.

Well, it is NOT the POGO — yet!

Maybe they will get it right EVENTUALLY.

I offered to work with them — for FREE. They were NOT interested.

I can now understand why they PULLED their IPO from the market. They probably knew that they would face Class Action Lawsuits.

I am just sharing this with YOU so you don’t get misled.

When It Comes To Controlling Diabetes, You MUST Opt For ‘Ceylon’ Cinnamon (NOT The ‘Chinese’).

I am NOT diabetic AS YET — but I just crept into
the prediabetes range.

Coming from ‘Ceylon‘ (now ‘Sri Lanka‘) {albeit leaving just before I was 14} I am NO STRANGER to Cinnamon. Ceylon, from time immemorial, has been famous for its spices — but in particular cinnamon. I have eaten cinnamon all my life & actually like the taste.

Until recently I had no idea, whatsoever, that cinnamon was supposed to be a potent means for keeping diabetes at bay. I discovered that when I started doing some research — once I was told that I had finally crept into the dreaded pre-diabetes range (albeit just). That is also when I found out that for diabetic control you MUST only go with CEYLON cinnamon. I had no issue with that — especially since Ceylon cinnamon is easy enough to get on Amazon.

But, this claim about Ceylon cinnamon helping to keep diabetes at bay kind of surprised me BECAUSE I have always known that Ceylon/Sri Lanka has a high incident of diabetes. I know many that do {though I can’t actually say ‘family members’ because I am a ‘hospital mixup‘ and have no idea who my biological relatives are}.

I looked it up. I was right. Things have not got better.

Yes, there is racial/genetic predisposition PLUS their VERY CARB HEAVY diet — called ‘rice & dahl‘ (the latter being lentils). I have not eaten rice & dahl in decades (though I am rather partial to that diet).

I just thought I will let you know.

This is but a start.

Still a LONG way to go — maybe another 20 lbs.

I had this look perfected a couple of times — albeit not recently.

People say it is all my walking. I beg to differ. Lack of food. SMILE.

‘Dexcom G7’ APP Crashes With ‘Android 14’ — Whenever You Touch The Detailed Graph To Get A Reading!

I called Dexcom support (which is responsive & TRIES HARD TO HELP) yesterday to report THIS problem PLUS two (2) others.

They CONFIRMED that the G7 ‘Android’ APP is only supported UP TO Android 13.

APP works on Android 14 as long as you don’t want to go back and check you values.

As soon as you touch the expanded graph, in horizontal view, as you are supposed to do — the APP crashes. So, now with Android 14 you can get the individual readings off the APP.

Dexcom is going to, of course, look into it.

I Met The ‘Garmin’ 2023 Walking Challenges For The Year With 72-Days To Spare. It Was Trivial.

My recent badges, all in the last month.

In a few months, with luck, I should make it to Garmin LEVEL 6!

Last 12 months.

When you walk 240+ miles a month, meeting a 31-mile/month challenge is TRIVIAL. Beyond trivial.

Click to ENLARGE. From Garmin. 2022

Kind of trivial for I.

But, it does amuse me. A challenge is a challenge.

For the longest time, at first, I never bothered about Garmin badges. Didn’t even KNOW who to sign-up for them. Then, I noticed I was getting them — automatically. Got me interested.

Last 2 years or so, I have been making an effort to get badges.

I want to keep on going UP through the the Garmin Levels.

When I started paying interest, I was at Level 4.

In early 2024 I might make it, with luck, to Level 6. I gather that this is rather special. SMILE.

I will let you know. Promise.

I am still MAINTAINING my 10,000(+) steps/day & 500,000 steps/month goals.
