‘DexCom’ Stock Deserves To Be Punished Given That Their ‘G7 Sensor’ Is Remarkably Inaccurate.

I have worn eight (8) Dexcom G7 sensors — for a total of around 75 days. It is NOT the full 80 you would expect (i.e., 10-day lifespan x 8) because I threw away a couple BEFORE they expired because they were so, so, so inaccurate. There is NO point, whatsoever, of wearing an inaccurate blood glucose monitor. Actually it is harmful — even DANGEROUS. You are being given FAKE RESULTS. What the G7 reports is NOT your actual blood glucose level. Much of the time it is just a RANDOM NUMBER.

I just couldn’t believe HOW INACCURATE the readings were. They were bad. Many times they were not even in the same ballpark. Crazy. Stupid. DANGEROUS. Harmful. Should NOT be allowed. I gave up on the G7. Will never get a DexCom product again. I spent HOURS calling and talking to their support. I bought 3 sensors (for $320 of my OWN money (since it was not covered by insurance) & DexCom support sent me FIVE (5) as replacements because they ‘acknowledged’ that I had DUFF sensors. That is how I ended up with 8 sensors. Dexcom has all my data & knows they screwed up. Hence the 5 free sensors.

You know that old chestnut how a totally broken watch, that doesn’t run, is better than a watch which is 1 second too slow/fast BECAUSE the broken watch AT LEAST shows the correct time TWICE a DAY whereas the slightly inaccurate one NEVER (ever) shows the right time. That is the story with the DexCom G7. Much of the time it just generates garbage results.

Please be warned.

‘Accu-Chek’ A ‘Blood Glucose’ Test Strip DISPENSER That Works!

Made my day. Finally a Test Strip dispenser that PRESENTS the test strip to you — conveniently, one at a time — without you having to go fishing for them inside a plastic container. BRILLIANT. Bravo.

I wasn’t expecting it. I hadn’t paid much attention to the picture on the packaging. I just needed some test strips. This made my day.

These, if they are halfway accurate, will be the only ones I will bother with going forward. Yes, of course, they have to be a tad more expensive. But to me, it is worth it. Fishing for strips was driving me nuts.

Thank YOU, ‘Roche‘. Nice touch.

5-Year Anniversary Of My Life-Altering Surgery — It Was Better/Cheaper Than A Facelift Or Botox.

I even got to spend the whole day with a man/President I admire — FDR (Franklin Delano Roosevelt) & his wife. That he was good friends with one of my all time HEROES ‘Winston’ has some to do with it. SMILE. [Until I toured his library, I had not realized that he, like Winston, was a racist — BUT, I understand. Men of their time. That is how they had grown up.]

Well, I have already ‘spoken’ at length about the knee I busted on February 28, 2019.

I had surgery to reattach the quad tendon on March 8, 2019. That surgery CHANGED my life for the better.

I am at least 30 lbs LIGHTER than I was on that day. Yes, I am now at around 135 lbs (61.2 Kg). I have not been that weight since I was a teenager. SMILE.

I am fitter than I was 5-years ago. Much fitter. SMILE.

I am so glad that I had that surgery.

5-Year Anniversary Of Busting My Knee & Needing Surgery — THE BEST THING That Happened To Me In 17-Years! You Should Bust Your Knee Too.

5-years ago TODAY. Coming home from ER after over a 6-hour stay.

I am so, so, so GLAD that I slipped, shoveling snow, on February 28, 2019 & SNAPPED my Quad-tendon. I did NOT know I had a quad-tendon.

Today the temps were in the 50s Fahrenheit. 5-years ago we had had a MAJOR snow storm. Ditto last year. This weather, CLIMATE CHANGE, is crazy & scary. I know we will get WALLOPED before this winter is over. Of that I have no doubt.

I postponed surgery for a week, because we had a mini-vacation booked in the Cape, & had it done on March 8, 2019.

CHANGED MY LIFE — for the better.

I am so glad I busted my knee. I am a new, better man because of it.
I am 30 pounds lighter than I was 5 years ago!

It was a wake up call. I was, prior to it, exercising daily & watching my diet. But, I had become lazy & complacent.

My pre-surgery blood work said my blood glucose was 102. I started crying. I was so distraught. All the nurses are saying it is FINE. It is FINE. You don’t have to worry till it gets close to 125. Heck with that.

From the very day of the surgery I changed my life.

I went on a much, much, much stricter diet. I lost 20 pounds. I STILL NEED TO LOSE ANOTHER 25. But, losing 20 was a START.

And I started AMBLING, each & every day, even while I was on crutches. They had me on crutches for 6 weeks. The day I was allowed to ditch them I started ambling in anger.

The rest as some of you know is history.

In the 1st year after surgery I walked 2,250 miles.

I now walk at least 3,000 miles a year. SMILE.

I have walked at least 10,000 steps, EACH & EVERY DAY, since April 17, 2020.

That is an unbroken 1,412 day STREAK.
3 years 10 months.

So, each February 28, in particular, I thank my lucky stars that I busted my knee.

I happened to see the above in my Google News Feed this morning.

I, now pre-diabetic, was INTRIGUED. I checked it out. Need to do much more research.

I was curious whether I could get RED LIGHT THERAPY products from Amazon — where I do 98% of my shopping. I was delighted that they do have products BUT I am not as yet sure whether they will meet the criteria for diabetic management. One thing I gleaned very quickly is that it depends on the FREQUENCY of the LIGHT. So, need to check if Amazon products can deliver the necessary frequency.

I wanted to bring this to your attention ASAP. I have now done that. SMILE.

I will do MORE research, &, of course, share that with you too. That is what I do. SMILE.

I Had Not Idea Australia Had An OBESITY Problem Until I Started Watching ‘The Tourist’ (2024) On ‘Netflix’.

It will write about ‘The Tourist‘ once I finished watching all six episodes — in the next couple of days. Quite the STORY. Quite the show. Wow.

But, 20 minutes into Episode 1 I realized that they were showing a LOT — & I mean a LOT — of fat & obese people. Initially it looked like a joke. I was like “no way”. Australians aren’t fat. But, they showed so many, I had to Google it. I was blown away. WOW.

I then even asked an Australian friend. He, this morning, CONFIRMED it. Wow. Australians.

For Those In ‘Las Vegas’ For Super Bowl LVIII — Pollen Counts Are ALWAYS High Due To Exotic Plants.

Click to ENLARGE. A 2021 post from my OLD, now shuttered blog.

I listen to music, news & CNBC on ‘Sirius XM‘ quite a bit — both in my Volvo & while ambling, via the APP.

This morning, on one of the music shows, I heard three of their rather young (& still not very mature) “DJs”, in Vegas for the Super Bowl, complaining about sore throats — & vehemently denying that they were caused by excessive partying.

Cracked me up.

They obviously didn’t know that Vegas is FAMOUS for its high pollen counts and thus aggravating allergies — like sore throats.

It has to do with ALL the exotic plants that were brought in by the casinos!

I learnt about this the hard way in the 1990s. I had to visit & stay in Vegas, 4 to 5 times a year, for various Trade Shows, seminars I conducting or for business meetings. I found that I always got a heavy chest. Talked to a few, looked it up. They said allergies. Well known. Take lots of histamines before coming & during the stay. I did. That helped.

So, I wanted to SHARE that with you. OK?

I Have The NEW ‘Garmin CONNECT’ APP — Kind Of Cute.

I had seen news items saying that a NEW CONNECT was going to be available in March.

About an hour ago I got a notification, within the old Connect APP, asking whether I want to Beta Test the new version. I thought about it for a second. Nothing to lose. At some point, whether I like it or not, I would HAVE TO USE the new APP. So might as well bite the bullet now. So, I agreed.

It was painless — so far.

Looks pretty nifty. Kind of like ‘Windows 11‘. I like it — so far.

I will keep you posted. Fingers crossed.

As I have said (many times) before, I don’t really like him, BUT when it comes to matters prostate or cancer all of us men need to stand shoulder-to-shoulder and support each other. I don’t consider him my King, but in the end, he is man, my age — & I sure would be unhappy if/when told I have cancer.

I feel particularly BAD because I think he might have BLADDER CANCER. All cancers are unpleasant and bad, BUT bladder cancer sucks. Yes, I have known some with it.

I also, has previously, stated know TOO MUCH about matters prostate. I spent a lot of time & effort educating myself on it — just to be on the safe side (& I have had MY SHARE of prostate issues).

WHEN they say they found the cancer while operating for his enlarged prostate one has to suspect BLADDER. The prostate is INSIDE the bladder. So, surgeons get a real good look at the bladder when they go looking for your prostate.

PLUS, as you can see from the second image, I am NOT the only one who is thinking along these lines. Yes, it could be lymph node cancer. IF it was, I think, he would have told us.

Bladder cancer is EMBARRASSING to talk about! The possible CURES are even WORSE — & I won’t even mention PIGS!

This MIGHT explain MUCH when it comes to I & my struggle to get my A1C under control.

This article came up on my ‘Google News‘ feed. Of course, I had to check it out.

The first three didn’t apply to I. I don’t take them. Not even sure what they are.

Then BANG! BINGO. #4 & #5.

Statins. I have been taking Lipitor for 26 years. Ditto Toporol XL. Wow. That might have a bearing. I will have to ask a doctor.

I wanted to SHARE this with you. Please check it out. OK? SMILE.
