‘Linda Elder‘, at ‘Wolfeboro’ (N.H.) last night, was vivacious & vibrant in what was truly a virtuous performance (in unforgiving heat & humidity) full of verve. The ‘Great Waters‘ crowd, loved it. All I heard as I stood by the side of the stairs (in my capacity as (v. low-level) ‘security’) was people raving about it, how good ‘she’ was & how much they enjoyed it. Linda Elders did us, i.e., ‘Great Waters‘, proud. Thank YOU, Linda! It was, for us, exceptionally hot & muggy & we in New Hampshire have yet to master air conditioning. {Smile}
Linda was HOT — quite literally — & she much appreciated a battery operated fan that she was given, halfway through, by one of our Board Members. Two of her band players want these pictures of Linda & the fan. Here they are. All yours. Just attribute them, if you can. {SMILE}
It was a great show. OK. OK. Some of her repertoire {AMAZINGLY} was before my time — despite my advanced years. But, some of it also has to do with the limited access to music, movies, stage & culture I had growing up. {SMILE} Remember, I didn’t wear shoes till I was past 14.
But, she did a song from ‘Sunset Boulevard’. Ah! I have seen the musical at least THRICE — once in London & then, at least twice, in New York. {I am trying to catch up to ‘Princess Di’ on ‘Phantom’. I am still about 9 shows short.} I enjoyed that.
It was good. It was good. Quite the lady. Very classy. She talked about letting her hair grow grey. I could relate, by most of my hair has fallen out BEFORE they turned grey. But, as my (still rather amateurish) photos show, she looks GREAT.
This was a GREAT way to kick-off our ‘Great Waters‘ 2023 season. Thank YOU, Linda. I am still smiling.
