Well, we all know of the ‘check is in the mail‘.
I have a ‘the plates are in the mail‘ situation!
New York dealership, behind my back, went ahead & registered my new car BY MAIL — from New York.
I can’t register it myself, locally, as I wanted to do, BECAUSE they have already registered it!
But, my NY 30-day TEMP plate expired on 10/14/2023.
Went to local Town Hall. They had already done THEIR part — by mail. Called DMV HQ. Yes, they could see the registration was proceedings.
Went in person, to DMV HQ, in Concord this morning. [Yes, I had an appointment.]
Once they UNDERSTOOD the issue they could NOT have been more helpful.
All I was after was a 20-day TEMP plate. I even had a $10 bill out … on the desk.
After some consultation they said the car was fully registered YESTERDAY.
They gave me these plates & A REGISTRATION. Wow.
I could NOT have happier. Wow.
