As I mentioned in my post yesterday, the 2019 Tamil movie ‘K.D.’ (above) revolves around euthanasia. The old guy’s children wanting to get rid of him as a burden & get access to his assets. (Yes. Some of us can relate. (SMILE)) Toward the end of the movie we see him signing a legal document. I originally thought it was a will. But, it would appear that it was meant to be his ‘consent’. [I won’t spoil the story for you just in case you want to watch this movie.]

Wow. Passive euthanasia!

But, in this case (i.e., in the movie) the kids were planning to accelerate death by bathing him in water spiced with ginger (to cool his body down) & then forcing him to drink the water from 12 coconuts (i.e., the clear coconut water (as opposed to the ‘milk’)). Per the movie, this process leads to organs shutting down — starting with the kidney. NOT sure whether this really counts as PASSIVE. Hhhmmm.

I am NOT an expert on this.

I believe in euthanasia for the terminally ill — with doctor’s making the call. In the movie, this wasn’t the case. It was kind of disturbing.

IF & when I ever get some time I really would like to look into this further. It looks ripe for abuse … which is what ‘K.D.’ was getting at.

Hhhhmmm.
