That is pretty DRASTIC.

I am NOT sure I would go that far.

Yes, the Francis papacy has some flaws, problems & challenges BUT I don’t think it is a pornocracy. For a start Francis is TOO OLD! Smile.

Wow. Will Francis, the ‘Warrior Pope‘, excommunicate the writer — who is Catholic.

This is pretty sensational stuff. I wanted to make sure YOU saw it.

Wow. A pornocracy.

    Myself I would expand the “First Pornocracy” to the end of the (final) reign of the less-than-stellar Benedict IX in 1048. So, 896-1048… But of course that is not germane to the conversation at hand.
    For this new “third pornocracy”, the author dates it to 1965, the end of Vatican II and all the “in the spirit of” changes that came about from that time. So that makes the last five pontificates, not just Francis. But the “pornography” charge lately is really directed toward Francis’ flunky, DDF head Cardinal Fernandez and his earlier writings, like “Heal Me With Your Mouth”. Which this author hasn’t (apparently) gotten to yet.
    Institutional corruption in the Vatican, like that of any other institution or government, is something that comes and goes.
    It’s awful, scandalous…but makes for good, headline grabbing, copy!

      I didn’t read the article. It came up on my ‘Google News’. I was SHOCKED by the headline. Yes, JUST click-bait. I have seen other stuff from him. He does this shock-jock stuff regularly.

      I feel that he has insulted the REAL pornocracy. Yes, what is happening now is not good. Even laughable. What were they NOT thinking?

      I had taken a solemn VOW that I was going to take a ‘long’ break from writing after the 2 Christmas books.
      That lasted about 2 weeks.
