People complain that for the amount of pictures I take & post, I post a very few of myself. That is true. I am not a good subject to take pictures of + I don’t want to ruin people’s appetite. But, just for the record that I am still kind of up & about — here are some from TODAY. Top one is at ‘Ft. McClary‘, Maine — one of our favorite ‘holiday’ destinations.

Wearing the tattered shirt I got at a discount at ‘Laconia Bike Week‘ yesterday. It was the only one I could afford & that was after I pleaded poverty & haggled with the lady. (Yes, I gave her some chocolates too.) One of these days WITH LUCK I might be able to buy a proper shirt with SLEEVES. Wow. I wouldn’t know what to do with it.

In the Summer augmented by weeds.

I have loved these painted barriers since I first saw them in January of this year. I, through Facebook, got an explanation as to how they came to be. I did a post about them at that juncture. (Please refer to that post if you too are curious.)

I did a post in July 2022 of them augmented by weeds.

Today, it was snow.

Today was the first time I have visited Fort Foster in the Summer. I wanted to see how nature augmented the art. It amused me. I will have to go back again soon to see if I can get more pictures with more flowers.

I went on one of my regular ambling trips yesterday. It was warm (32F), I hadn’t walked 8+ miles in a day in over a month & I still had less than 1K miles on my 2.5-month old Volvo XC60. I had no plan, no itinerary other than that I would start off around Portsmouth & not have breakfast until I had done 12,000 steps. That was easy. After picking up breakfast from a gas station (chicken tenders & a hot sausage), I headed to Maine. First stop, of course, was Kittery. Just followed my nose & that invariably leads me to the sea. (Must be because I was born on an island.)

Stumbled upon Fort McClary. Had it ALL to myself. I sat & had my breakfast, at 1pm, in style. Saw the sign for the other fort across the water. I considered walking across ….

After spending an hour at Fort McClary I headed east on Route 103. I knew I could find my way to the other fort. I did.

The paintings blew me away. I started taking a picture of each. I think I missed about 4. Sorry. Though it was warmer than normal, it was still cold.

I am going back within the month. Was thinking of going back next week, but I have to go to Boston. Per my own schedule, I really can’t afford 2 days of goofing. Books to finish. But, I will go back. Take more pictures. Enjoy.
