It is a shame & it was a distressing to see. But, I know what the problem is. It, over the Summer, has become a favored PARTY SPOT for local kids. I know. I met some of them & even socialized with them when I was there last June. It is a great spot for LOCAL kids. Easy to get to & as yet not visited by too many adult tourists. Yes, things will get better when schools start, but till then this is going to be a problem.
I will TRY and let Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) know. I am sure they already know. Sending a crew to clean up the beach will be an unnecessary expense. Yes, they can always call upon their devoted volunteers. IF I had the appropriate ‘gear’ I would have cleared up some. For now, I just wanted to draw attention to this. I will, of course, check on this again when I am next up.
Though it lacks the Bold Coast views, this is a lovely cove. Ideal for families with kids. There is even a picnic table. I have had lunch on it twice already. SMILE.
