To say I am a HUGE fan, or to be precise to claim that I USED to be a HUGE fan, would be an understatement. I was devotee, a disciple. ‘Asterix‘ was kind of sacred which is why I am now scared. I don’t want to be dissapointed.
As you can see I still have 27 Asterix books. That, alas, is NOT the full monty. I think I am a few — maybe about 7 — shy. But, this is my 2nd time around. I got my kids hooked & they, as they are entitled, kind of acquired my first set. So, I built up this set about 20 years ago. YES, I will also confess I haven’t read one in about as long! Yes, I know!
I kind of also know that now, much older, I will NOT be as enthralled as I used to be. Joys or sorrows of getting older.
But, I can’t make up my mind about watching the movie. I would have been happier IF it was a cartoon. Real actors! Yikes. So much potential to disappoint.
Yes, I have read some reviews. They don’t help. Very mixed.
I will let you know IF I get around to watching it. Fingers crossed.
