Amazon’s Shipping Algorithm Still Has Pockets Of ‘Artificial Stupidity’ (i.e., Opposite Of ‘AI’).

Amazon’s shipping REALLY hasn’t got that much better over the last 6 months — despite their claims that they are using more & more Artificial Intelligence (AI). They have got better at playing games.

The above was beyond stupid. I ordered 12 copies of the SAME BOOK (as author copies). They SPLIT the order in TWO. Yes, split it in TWO — but not even 6 + 6. Instead 11 + 1. They printed 11 in one location & ONE in another. Shipped them SEPARATELY.

How does that make SENSE?

Two shipping costs to THEM. Stupid.

This, alas, is NOT the only example. I have talked about others too. See below.

This is beyond CRAZY.

This is beyond CRAZY. Happens each and every time. You would think they would have FIXED it by now.

You would think folks in Maine would complain.

All deliveries to Maine take at least TWO DAYS longer than they do to New Hampshire.

I have another package, right now, with the same issue.

YES, another shipments of my ‘Bold Coast’ book to ‘Lubec‘, Maine. {Yes, they are selling them in Lubec — & I am delighted.}

I have already talked about this crazy ‘Chelmsford, MA‘ LOOP. Happens every time — without fail. It is STUPID.

I have brought it to Amazon’s attention — but they don’t care.

Well, I am offering you further, irrefutable proof. Check the images. You can see it clearly.

Amazon’s Supposed AI Powered Shipping Is Getting STUPIDER By The Day — A Preschooler Could Do Better!

This is a shipment of 24 of my ‘Bold Coast’ book to ‘Lubec‘, Maine.

Amazon really, really struggles with shipments to this part of Maine. Yes, since Lubec is my PRIMARY outlet for my ‘Bold Coast’ books I ship a fair amount of books to Lubec from Amazon. In 2-years I have YET to have a shipment get there without a DELAY.

This to-and-from ‘Chelmsford, MA‘ LOOP that resulted in one day being LOST is easy to see. No explanation. Just PLAN STUPID. ‘Nashua, NH‘ is just 20-miles north of Chelmsford. So, it crosses state lines, goes to another city & comes back. This is NOT AI. This is STUPIDITY.

I spoke to Amazon about this. They acknowledged that they have a problem. Stupid.

Another example of Amazon shipping stupidity.

Yet ANOTHER example!

In the last few months Amazon has been all over the media claiming that they are using AI to make their shipping smarter.
Here are actual examples showing how it has FAILED —

& FAILED BADLY.

1st example from just 3 days ago!

In the last few weeks Amazon has been all over the media claiming that they are using AI to make their shipping smarter.
I am NOT convinced.

I ordered TWO copies each of two of my ‘Bold Coast‘ books. I am all out of books & wanted to take some with me to the Bold Coast next week. Ordering author copies, though cheaper, takes two weeks. So, I just ordered two each online. {I will get royalties on them so it is not too bad in the end.}

THEY SPLIT THE ORDER.

Two copies were delivered a few minutes ago.

The other two haven’t even SHIPPED!

OK. There is an explanation. Though they are NOT supposed to, Amazon often pre-prints a few copies of each title so that they can ship them faster. So, it is possible that they had these two copies already printed & the other two needed to be printed. That makes some sense.

But, I think it would have been better if they PRINTED ALL FOUR together & did ONE shipment.

They claim they know photo books.
Like hell.

DO NOT order photo books from Snapfish.

The two pictures above tell you ALL that you need to know — alas.

I paid $12.99 (for the 20 page book), 99 cent SHIPPING SURCHARGE & $9.08 SHIPPING.

$10 in shipping & this is what I get?

No wonder I love Amazon & KDP paperback publishing. I have got HUNDREDS of books from Amazon. On average I get a couple of books A WEEK. I have never had a damaged one.

Bloody Snapfish. I regret having used them. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.

My Damaged ‘Pixel 6 Pro’ Is Delivered OVERNIGHT To ‘Google’ For Repair By ‘FedEx’.

by Anura Guruge
on June 30, 2022

Click to ENLARGE. ‘FedEx’ & ‘Google’ tracking.

That was impressive & I am pleasantly amazed. This is the 2nd time in the week that FedEx has exceeded my expectations. WOW. Thanks, FedEx.

I guess this is the deal Google has with FedEx for returns/repairs — given that most people are hoping to get their ‘fixed’ Pixel as quickly as possible.

Kind of amusing that Google/FedEx takes 3 days (or more) to deliver new Pixels. I know. I have ordered a few. SMILE. Minimum 3 days as of when Google says shipped. But, a repair is delivered the next day. I am NOT complaining. It is all good.

Though Google sent me an (automated) e-mail saying that it might take a day or two before my Pixel was inspected, I got another e-mail within a couple of hours.

My Pixel 6 Pro had been inspected & the damage was as I had stated. Cracked/broken screen. Hence, their initial estimated price of $259 stood. That was good. They had already made a provisional charge against my credit card for that amount.

So … so far, so good.

I will keep you posted (quite literally).
