I listen to music, news & CNBC on ‘Sirius XM‘ quite a bit — both in my Volvo & while ambling, via the APP.

This morning, on one of the music shows, I heard three of their rather young (& still not very mature) “DJs”, in Vegas for the Super Bowl, complaining about sore throats — & vehemently denying that they were caused by excessive partying.

Cracked me up.

They obviously didn’t know that Vegas is FAMOUS for its high pollen counts and thus aggravating allergies — like sore throats.

It has to do with ALL the exotic plants that were brought in by the casinos!

I learnt about this the hard way in the 1990s. I had to visit & stay in Vegas, 4 to 5 times a year, for various Trade Shows, seminars I conducting or for business meetings. I found that I always got a heavy chest. Talked to a few, looked it up. They said allergies. Well known. Take lots of histamines before coming & during the stay. I did. That helped.

So, I wanted to SHARE that with you. OK?

I Am Sorry To Hear That ‘The Mirage’, My Favorite Hotel On The Las Vegas Strip, Will Cease To Be.

Other than when it comes to stock & option trading, I DO NOT GAMBLE. I kind of joke that I gamble enough on the stock market to preclude any need for any additional wagering. As such, it took me quite a bit of time to warm to Vegas. But then I had to start going to Vegas, at least twice a year, for multiple days at a time, to do seminars at various networking tradeshows — doing seminars a major part of my professional repertoire. I got a liking for the Vegas shows & dining. I even started going there on family vacations.

My primary reason for picking ‘The Mirage’ was the ‘Siegfried & Roy‘ white tigers that were on display at the hotel. I have a thing about tigers. I loved those tigers. I would go spend a lot of time watching them. I, however, never went to a show. I DO NOT like seeing Big Cats perform.

I have probably stayed at The Mirage about 8 times. Yes, I have stayed at many other Vegas hotels too. There are stories about me & Vegas hotels. But, we won’t go into those now.

Anywho, I am sad to hear that The Mirage might cease to be.

But, there was some good news that went with it. The new owners are a Native American group. I am happy about that. I am all for Native American enterprise, initiative & success.

The 1st of the Great WatersConcerts in the Clouds‘ performances, last Saturday, July 17, 2021, featuring the incomparable piano-man ‘Peter Cincotti‘ was a HUGE success despite uncooperative weather. The weather is unlikely to be an issue this coming Saturday, i.e., July 24, for the 2nd concert — ‘The Australian Bee Gees‘ (a tribute band).

They have become a well known & well loved feature in Las Vegas. Rated as one of the TOP shows on the Strip! That has to make them good — & I say that as one who has seen at least 10 shows on the Strip. None disappointed.

I have, of course, checked them out. (SMILE) I like to know what I am getting myself into. They are good.

There are still some tickets available — albeit, mainly the outdoor lawn seating. But, it promises to be a nice evening & I too will be outside. So, ….

I plan to be there. See you there. Enjoy.
