The train set is coming along nicely. Heavy too. Has HEFT.

The Christmas tree. This is fiddly. Needs MORE assembly!

Ornaments from the wooden & box calendars hung up on a LED tree.

Not sure WHERE the chocolate calendar is. I suspect it is ALL GONE.

Love the train set. Wow.

She has some work to do. But, she is busy with the lights, the trees & decorations.

I will keep you posted.

Merry Christmas!

SIX (6) 2024 Advent Calendars In Parallel — On The Premise That You Can Never Have TOO MANY.

All six — including a chocolate one.
The Lego & Lego compatible ones (x3).

Six, from what I remember, is probably the MOST we have done for ONE KID! Smile.

Well, I believe you can’t have ENOUGH, but 6 is all I could manage. Plus, SHE has to assemble the Lego ones and that takes time. Smile.

I will of course show you the progress as we go along.

The train one should be fun. I wanted IT, but was realistic. As she says, I can watch it take shape. What FUN.

Merry Christmas!

She got a shelving unit last year so that she can have them all out on display.

4 ACTIVE calendars for 2022 — ONE more than usual.

This year I added the 24 boxes. Needed more space for the ‘gifts’! The wooden calendar is v. nice but the drawers are very small. SMILE.

I was nervous about the ‘Lego Compatible’. But, she says the pieces are GOOD & there are more pieces per figure than with Lego. That is good since it was half the price of the Lego.

Alas, not from our yard or from within the house. I took these pictures, this afternoon, at our local ‘Hannafords‘ supermarket. I like to take pictures of flowers — as some of you may have worked out. We have already had a few hard frosts & there are no outdoor flowers around here — or for a few hundred miles from here. So, I will have to make do with indoor ones & ones on display. But, I will always try to be as COLORFUL as I can.

This, a wooden calendar I got a few years ago is the cornerstone. It gets pride of place. All the Lego Advent calendars get arrayed around it. This year I think we will have 15 Advent Calendars going in parallel! I keep on adding at least 2 per year. This year I have three. SMILE. She will have 2 Legos — or one Lego & one compatible — to build each day, & two with presents. Not sure what she will do with the others. She make do some of the others each day too. Depends if she has the time & energy. I know she is getting out the prior Lego Advents tomorrow.

In case you are interested I got this, i.e., a Lego compatible, too — this one from Amazon. For the price I could NOT resist.

I wanted one of these ‘floating’ ‘Lego‘ kits. They are NOT made by Lego, but use the same brick specification & architecture.

This kit, which I wanted, is only available from China. I, of course, checked Amazon.

They have it on eBay but the cheapest there was in excess of $60.

I could get it from ‘AliExpress’ at basically half the price.

I had never dealt with them & I was leery. Though I have owned JD.com & AliBaba (BABA) stock (& in the case of the former, still do), I was concerned that I might get scammed.

Yes, of course, I Googled. People say v. good things about them & their policies. So, I decided to give it a try using PayPal.

I placed the order on January 14, 2022. The order process is slick enough. Not perfect, but pretty close.

From that point on I got a SLEW of e-mail updates. I could even say that that was kind of like a negative. An e-mail a day! But, hey, they were being responsive & transparent.

They told me to expect delivery within a month.

I got it today — 2-weeks. The kit looks OK.

I am impressed. I might order a few more things. The prices are sure attractive.

I will keep you appraised. But, for now — two, big, fat thumbs UP.
