‘The Thief Collector’ (2022) On ‘Prime Video’ Is Quite The Story. Rather Compelling. You Will Love It If You Are Into Art.

I was NOT aware of this story. Given that I am not that much into modern art, I also was NOT familiar with the artist or this painting (though I kind of think I have heard the name ‘Kooning‘).

This is QUITE the story. Though technically a ‘documentary’ (and billed as such), you can watch it like a crime movie. Very well done. I was impressed.

Check it out. Prime Video does have some good stuff. Every few weeks I take a break from ‘Netflix‘ and make a point of watching a few shows on Prime. There is definitely a different ‘feeling’ as to what you get on Prime vs. Netflix. Netflix offerings, on the whole, tend to be more ‘in your face’ … also more vibrant. Prime stuff tends to be more laid-back. That is my feeling. What do YOU think? Enjoy.

YOU have to watch this. Very, very well produced. The young Indian star is brilliant. Appears that he sang and performed all the songs. WOW. What talent.

This came up as a ‘Netflix‘ recommendation. Looked intriguing & I am sucker for ‘Beatles‘ music. So, I watched. Glad I did.

I don’t generally like stupid, make-believe premises as plot lines. In this case, however, I will make an exception because it is SO MUCH fun. The soundtrack. Wow. I feel so lucky that I was able to grow up with ‘The Beatles’.

You should definitely watch. Appears that is available on both Netflix & ‘Prime‘.

The movie was ‘OK’ — not great, a bit convoluted, but not dreadful. I watched it to the end. That the ‘kid’ played in the ‘PBS’ ‘The Durrells‘ made it rather cool. I liked him in that series.

I was intrigued by the ‘glass armonica’. It was cool. Had to go look it up & share it with YOU. Now I have done that. Don’t worry too much about the movie but check the armonica out.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a HOOT. It said up front that in ALL PROBABILITY it is a TRUE STORY. Appears it is (see above YouTube) but somewhat modified. I saw some ‘inconsistencies’ BUT I was willing to overlook them because it was entertaining. Made you smile.

Good story. Check it out. I am SURE you will like it. ENJOY.

“Howard’s Mill” (2023) On ‘Prime’ Proved To Be A Mockumentary But It Had Me TOTALLY DUPED — & I Enjoyed It Thoroughly.

Google search on whether it is REAL. It is NOT.

They had me FOOLED!

No indication that it was TOTAL FICTION. Very cleverly done.

Yes, I was PUZZLED, but intrigued. I was going to look into it. So, there is at least that …. I was going to look into it. I did.

That these ‘kids’ making this ‘documentary‘ had incredible access to AUTHORITIES and witnesses did have me skeptical. It was like … ‘give me a break‘. Well, now I know why. It wasn’t real. WOW.

Interesting concept.

Sure was entertaining. So no complaints. I enjoyed watching it.

Well done!

Wow. WOw. WOW!

Indubitably one of the MOST compelling movies I have watched of late. Everything about it was good. I learnt a lot about the South from this movie. That was a bonus. I had never heard of this case or the lawyer. My loss.

Fascinating. Great acting. Lots of humor. Great. Great. Great.

My only disappointment was THIS — & to my relief, it had indeed been flagged on IMDb.

How could you get something that basic WRONG in a multi-million dollar movie. That was amazing. I know my planes. I spotted that at once. Had to rewind to make sure I had NOT misheard. Other than that, a near perfect movie.

The dead giveaway IF you are diligent is that its run length is ONLY 1 hour and 37 minutes.

The blockbuster version, now playing in theaters, as has been widely publicized, is 3 hours long.

So, what is for rent at ‘Prime‘ is a U.K. documentary. (Link to ‘IMDb.com’ listing). It is NOT the version now playing to record crowds in theaters.

So, be aware. Don’t rent this by mistake. OK?

This was REALLY, REALLY … REALLY … REALLY BAD!

Atrocious. Not even sure what they were thinking. Drug addled is all I can think of. Nothing else would explain its stupidity.

In general I tend to be quite mellow & very forgiving when it comes to movies. I appreciate that I don’t have to watch it. So, if you check my many movie reviews (on this blog) you will find that most times I am charitable & uncritical.

But this movie ANNOYED I. It was so stupid. PLUS, I paid to watch it. Not much but even that was way, way, way too much.

I am NOT going to waste another second on this. Just wanted to give YOU a HUGE heads up. Stay away from this movie. It is truly bad.

It has a bit of everything: action, drama, comedy, pathos, etc. etc. In the end it is, however, most definitely a ‘feel good‘ movie & it sure makes you smile, especially at the end.

Yes, there is a MAJOR ‘Special Needs‘ angle, but it is done very positively. If you can relate to ‘special needs’, you will love this.

I was a bit skeptical right at the start, but they had me, hooked, quickly.

Yes, this is ONLY if you like feel good. Smile. Otherwise you will think it was (alas) soft.

Amazingly good. It truly was ‘RIVETING’. Thousand times better than I expected.

I never had a ‘BlackBerry‘. But this is NOT a ‘Product‘ or ‘Tech‘ movie. It is high-power, high-caliber, RAW DRAMA. Powerful, greedy, clever people in action — & even how they change & evolve over time.

Very fast paced. Well produced. I definitely recommend it. Check out the YouTube trailer. It gives you a genuine glimpse of the joys that await you.
