Do YOU Remember ‘Cardinal Richard Kuuia Baawobr’?

I did write about him in August 2022.

He was a classic example of a prelate CREATED in absentia — i.e., created a cardinal though he did NOT attend the conclave.

Click to access my August 2022 post.

He fell ill as soon as he landed in Rome for the consistory. As I show in my post, the pope talked about it at the consistory.

ALAS, he was NOT to be a cardinal for long. He died EXACTLY 3 months after he was created. Yes, created August 27, 2022, died November 27, 2022. 3 months. Appears he had heart issues — had had heart surgery & had only been released from hospital a few days before he died. HE WAS YOUNG. Just 63.

So, why am I talking about him today?

He is the LAST Cardinal Elector to have passed away.

He passed away 17 months ago (i.e., 523 days).

That was the last time we had attrition of a Cardinal Elector — other than from aging out.

I went & checked. That is atypical.

We had 2 cardinal electors pass away in 2021.

But none in 2023.

This, of course, good.

I am keeping CLOSE tabs of cardinal elector demographics & want to make sure I don’t miss anything.

IF ‘Pope Francis’ Is Well Enough To Travel To Asia, He Should Convene A Consistory BEFORE He Leaves.

For the last few months I have been advocating that Francis really should hold another cardinal creating consistory to CEMENT HIS legacy as the pope who modernized the Catholic Church and brought it, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century (albeit with no concessions to transgender folks).

Per the current cardinal elector demographics the NEXT POPE will end up as centrist — somebody in the middle.

Neither camp, i.e., the reformists (i.e., Francis‘ acolytes) nor the traditionalists (i.e., those led by U.S. Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke) have sufficient votes to gain the 67% supre-majority needed to get a new pope. The Francis camp is short by AT LEAST 10. That, on paper, he created the 73% of the current slate of electors means diddly. They are NOT all going to vote for ‘Franic II’.

Francis needs to create AT LEAST 22 young, radical REFORMISTS. This is his LAST CHANCE to make a difference. Make sure the Church is RE-FORMED.

Francis has held an August consistory. He should do it AGAIN. Create 22 (or more) electors. Then he could rest knowing he has done his job.

Cardinal Elector Demographics — As Of April 20, 2024.

Click to ENLARGE. The 8 who will age out next — till end of 2024.

Two cardinal electors, BOTH Francis creations, will age-out by April 20, 2024 — one (from Laos) on April 8 & the other (from Spain) on April 19.

So, this is what the elector demographics will look like as of April 20, 2024.

Then we don’t have any aging out till June 8, 2024.

That the two who aged out are Francis creations means that only 72.4% of the electorate was created by Francis. That is NOT enough to ensure that the next pope will be a Francis acolyte. He needs to hold another cardinal creating consistory SOON.

Just a note. A very few cardinals have died of late (& those mostly non-electors). Keep that in mind since this will change the demographics & I will, of course, update the numbers.

Another incomparably beautifully crafted & ‘info at a glance‘ cardinal-designate graphic by the remarkably talented & devout Fr. César J. Tobón of Colombia who has provided us with similar & much appreciated, graphics ahead of other cardinal creating consistories and whenever there has been major changes to the Roman curia. His beautiful work is always a joy to behold and an honor to present.

Fr. César J. Tobón also included these words with this graphic:

Thy Kingdom come!

Very esteemed in Christ.

A cordial greeting from Santiago de Chile.

A couple of months ago, Pope Francis announced a Consortium for the creation of new cardinals that will take place on September 30th.

Let us keep in mind the words of Pope Francis at the time of the announcement: «Let us pray for the new Cardenales, so that, confirming their adherence to Christ, merciful and faithful High Priest (cf. Heb 2,17), help me in my ministry of the Obispo from Rome to the good of all the faithful Santo Pueblo de Dios». Angelus of Pope Francis, July 9, 2023.

Let us continue to order Pope Francis and his Petrine ministry. En Cristo, P. César J. Tobón, L.C.

Did ‘Pope Francis’ Keep The Invaluable ‘Suburbicarian See’ Of ‘Albano’ Vacant This Long To Give It To His Friend, Kissing Expert, ‘Víctor Manuel Fernández’?

Creating fellow compatriot Víctor Manuel Fernández a cardinal was obviously not something that just came out of the blue.

Pope Francis & Víctor Manuel Fernández have been close friends & thick-as-thieves collaborators for over 20 years.

Creating him, i.e., Víctor Manuel Fernández, a cardinal, as soon as it was practical must have always figured in the pope’s master plan (however sketchy it might have been).

Now it all makes sense.

Víctor Manuel Fernández, as a senior curialist, is sure entitled to be a Cardinal Bishop (not that that has ever made a difference). But, to be fair, senior curialist, in good standing, invariably get the nod when there is a Cardinal Bishop vacancy.

The pope can give him ‘Albano’ right at the consistory. That would be neat.

So, it all makes sense. WOW.

‘Pope Francis’, His Recent Eyesight Issues In Portugal & ‘Fatima’, & Cataracts.

Given the eye issues I have had most of my life, I, as some of you have figured out, am somewhat obsessed with eye care & eye health. I also know a LITTLE BIT about eye conditions.

So, when I read about Pope Francis’ recent eye issues, my first reaction, especially, given his age was CATARACTS. This sounded like a cataract-related issue.

So, I was curious whether the pope, AS HE SHOULD HAVE (given his age), had had cataract surgery. Appears that he had — in 2019. But, he & the Vatican (per usual), have been very secretive about it. For a start, it is not clear whether he had BOTH eyes done or just one. Having just one eye done, especially given his advanced age, makes NO sense. Yes, some the degree of opacity can be different between the eyes — but you might as well get new lenses, & hence, BETTER VISION, in both eyes.

So, that to I, is the first issue. Did he have BOTH eyes done?

The artificial lens implanted during a cataract surgery ages! Yep. Has to do with scar tissuing. Over time, starting after the first year, the lens starts getting a coating. These days that coating is EASY TO REMOVE. They use a fairly simple laser cleaning technique. My cataract surgeon talks about this everytime I go into see him — which these days is yearly (around February). I am OK for now.

This could be what ails the pope. He should be seeing his eye doctor as soon as he gets back to Rome. In his case, however, his age, lung capacity & OBESITY could be an issue — i.e., any kind of general anesthesia could be dangerous (even for a simple lens cleaning).

‘Pope Francis’, Even With His New Cardinal Designates, Might Not Have Enough VOTES At The Next Conclave.

NO, I don’t think he still has ENOUGH!

Let’s assume the conclave is in early December — though I am increasingly coming to the opinion that Pope Francis is the new ETERNAL POPE & will continue to dither along for another 3 or 4 years! He probably will need to live that long if he wants to make sure that the NEXT POPE will continue HIS AGENDA — i.e., be a ‘Francis II’ in terms of being PROGRESSIVE.

In December 2023 (IGNORING the 120 elector limit (as everyone seems to be doing)), there will be 134 electors. 98 will be Francis creations.

To attain the REQUISITE TWO-THIRDS majority (rounded up) you will need 89 votes.

So, it would appear that Francis should have enough votes.

I DOUBT IT.

It is unlikely that ALL 98 will VOTE for the same candidate. That is the problem.

45 in opposition (i.e., ONE-THIRD plus one (for safe measures)) can continually block an election EVEN after we go into the just 2-candidate RUNOFF process in the ‘second week‘ (10 to 13 days after the start of the conclave).

This could be quite the contentious conclave & we, for the first time, could see a conclave enter the RUNOFF process. Wow.

Stay TUNED.

The TWO Things That ‘Pope Francis’ Should Do Now (IF He Has Any Sense) Now That He Has Designated 21 New Cardinals (To Be).

by Anura Guruge

It was just a week ago, exactly, that I predicted that Francis really must hold another cardinal creating consistory. So, I was proved right.

I pointed out that given his track record (see above chart) that he will AGAIN exceed the 120 cardinal elector limit. He did. I thought he would exceed it by 10 or 12. I was wrong on that. He will exceed it by 17 THOUGH it drops to 16 the next day & will be down 12 by the end of the year (barring any deaths).

There are 2 very crucial things the pope needs to do, ASAP, to GUARANTEE that his plans are not derailed.

They are:

1/ Issue, at once, a 1-line motu proprio stating that the 120 elector limit no longer applies.

It will take, at most, 10 minutes of his time, if that.

It will avoid what could become an ANTIPOPE scenario! Maybe even a SCHISM by U.S. Catholics!

Unless he lifts that limit, it could always be argued, validly, that the Next Conclave was not legitimate — that it was a STOLEN ELECTION.

It is so easy to avoid this.

That he continues to ignore this key issue & continues to dither is just another poor reflection of his character, competency & acumen.

2/ File at once, given his precarious health, an affidavit with the Vatican curial ‘Secretariat of Briefs‘ stating that all 21 designees have already been made cardinals in a secret/private consistory.

Then it does NOT matter if the September 30, 2023, consistory never takes place.

The document can be published so that the cardinals can come forward & take their place .

Perfectly, perfectly legal.

I have already talked about this, so I won’t rehash it — just give you this link.

Snapshot & Analysis Of Pope Francis’ 8 Cardinal Creating Consistories To-Date.

by Anura Guruge
on July 2, 2023

Click to ENLARGE. From one of my magic papal Excel spreadsheets.

A year ago I did not think Pope Francis has the strength or energy, but I have had to reassess my position though he is, obviously, older & sicker than he was last year.

Basically, he does not have a choice.

He really needs to hold another cardinal creating consistory SOON. Given his health he might be forced to do it as early as August — which was when we had last.

Ideally, he would try to push it back till November. Then a couple more electors would have aged out.

I wanted to show you this analysis BEFORE I did any other posts. That way it will be easier for you to follow my rationales.

Pay particular attention to how he has ALWAYS exceeded the {now} SUPPOSED 120 elector limit. Appreciating this is key. I think at the next one he will blow past his previous highs and appoint as many as 10 or 12 ABOVE the 120 limit. OK?

Study this. I will refer to it in my subsequent posts.

Pope Francis’ New Enforcer Of The Doctrine, ‘Víctor Manuel Fernández’, Is The Author Of The Book ‘Heal Me With Your Mouth. The Art Of Kissing’.

The link from the first image takes you to an article that claims to explain how & why this book came to be — given that it was written by a Catholic priest under the vow of celibacy (though NOT continence). It is written in the first person — so there is an implication that he himself wrote this.

Early on he equates a kiss with a hickey!

Maybe he is a tad ignorant on the subject & needs more exposure.

I will let you do some reading on your own.

I just hope he was NOT practicing on … Well we all know what Catholic priests are now most famous for. I will also refrain from making in jokes as to who he must have been kissing up to at the Vatican.

He & Francis are compatriots & have known each other for a longtime.

He is not yet a cardinal. So, Francis will surely have to have a consistory soon to give him a red hat. You can’t have him, especially given that he wrote this book, not being a cardinal.

I am indebted to my onetime collaborator, Louis Epstein, for bringing this book to my attention. He did so this morning by e-mail. You can always rely on Louis for wonderful nuggets of information like this. That is his forte. No one can do research like he can. Thank YOU, Louis. This made my day.
