Lounging on beaches has limited appeal to I. Unless socializing, I, at a minimum, need to be reading or napping. Otherwise I would die of boredom. While I don’t complain (much) about ambling in heat, the same is not true when lounging. I would rather be in A/C (or with a fan) in my study — writing. SMILE. Yes, I am strange.
While I visit our (shared) beach more or less daily in the winter, when access is limited and restricted, I go less often in the Summer. Too many folks around. When I do go, it tends to be close to 7pm. ‘Rowen‘ & I like that period ahead of dusk. We tend to have the beach to ourselves, it is cooler & we get treated to some delightful sunsets.
Today was HOT. V. Hot. It was in the mid-80s. So, Rowen & I visited the beach around 6:45pm. Somebody went for a swim. It would have been a wee bit too cold for me. SMILE. As of now, we will probably go down, to the beach, weather cooperating, most evenings. Soon, with luck, I could even start posting sunset pictures.
The bank on which they grow — still showing the brutality it was subjected to last Summer when the town bush hogged it, supposedly to make winter snow clearing easier.
I am so happy to see them back. A number of us feared that they might not make it this year given that the bank (shown above) was basically ‘shaved’ bald.
I went by a number of times, earlier this month, & there was NOTHING. Then today. Wow. Amazing what a week of warm weather, with frequent rains, can do.
I am DELIGHTED.
I treat this clump as MY own lady slippers. We do, sometimes, get lady slippers in our yard but they are not as consistent as these on the bank.

I coerced him to make me a bespoke plate — with a minimum of carbs.
BUT, I still put on 2 lbs! Yes, it was a BIG plate.
This amazing Food Truck is at the “Eastland Motel“, my goto accomodation in ‘Lubec‘ (esp. given that they are open all year round).
I was so EXCITED to see that the food truck, that had remained closed for the last 3 years (or so) had life. Wow. Yes, I will confess, I was DEFLATED when I saw the hours. As with everything in Lubec, it closed at 7pm! That, to I, is immoral. Who eats dinner before 7? Sunset in Lubec, last week, was ~7:50pm. I can’t eat when the sun is up. I go to the ‘Bold Coast‘ to amble as much as I can — while I have light. Yes, I do amble at night too, but that is not as fun.
Well, on Friday, I made a point of getting there around 6:40. He, i.e., Jason, was closing up! He could see I was crushed. He said he could, MAYBE, make me some pulled pork. He must have seen that I was NOT impressed. He then asked “you hungry? Real hungry?” Of course I was. I had ambled 10 miles. Ambling makes me ravenous which is why I eat SO MUCH — & then put on all this weight.
Jason is a good man. He made me a GREAT PLATE. Best food I had eaten in a longtime. Wow. Jason can cook.
As far as I am concerned Lubec, prior to this, had three (& only three) fairly OK dining establishments — one of them relishing in charging Connecticut pricing in Lubec. [While I am OK with paying to eat out … I kind of expect …] So, that is it. Just two.
Jason was a revelation.
I was SO, SO, SO tempted to ask him to make me a plate, on Saturday, to bring home. But, I resisted (though it was hard). I can’t afford to put on more weight. It is bad enough as it is — & the 2lbs I put on is NOT helping.
Yes, I will be going back, BUT I will have to CURB my enthusiasm. Just ONE meal — i.e., 2lbs. I will first have to amble away these 2lbs I am now carrying. MY FAULT. Not Jason’s. I shouldn’t be such a glutton. SMILE.
I am sure that we are due one & today might be the day it is announced. That would be wild.

NVDA is hot & it is too expensive for the average retail customer — & for KIDS. Kids should, ideally, be into NVDA. Could be the best way to pay for college, if college is still a viable option when they grow up.
Post-split the price should be under $200. So, a 4:1 or even 5:1 would be ideal.
We will wait & see. Yes, I know that there are plenty others, out there, calling for a split. But, I wanted to have my little say too.
Yes, I also know that the AMZN & GOOG splits didn’t go the way MOST expected. SMILE. C’est la vie. That is how the cookie crumble.
