Adult AUTISM — Insightful & Useful Article By CNN.

3 years ago I only had a passing familiarity with autism. I REGRET THAT. Around 12-years ago, my oldest daughter, who had just started studying psychology at college, asked me about ‘Aspergers‘. I had NO IDEA what she was talking about. Now, I know a fair amount about autism, BUT would really like to know more.

Yes, autism is now close to my heart — in every way.
{NO, I don’t have it as far as I know (or others can say), though I suspect I have some traits of OCD (as it relates to my obsessive, non-stop writing).}

That autism can go undetected, even today, by the U.S. schooling system AMAZES I.

Yes, we are dealing with an ADULT with autism. I just wish — so dearly wish — that we had found out about it EARLIER, much earlier. I feel so bad & GUILTY about that. Wasn’t as if this person didn’t see enough doctors etc., etc. The system let ALL of us down — badly.

I, now that I am cognizant, know adults who more than likely are ‘high-functioning’ autistics.

SEE ‘The Accountant’ movie below. That is about high-functioning, very competent autistic.

In one case, it was so blatantly obvious (& explained so much), that I felt compelled to bring it up with the person. He took it as an affront. Shame. As the CNN article (above) explains that is not the right way to look at it. C’est la vie.

I just wanted to share this with YOU. Share with others as YOU see appropriate.

U.K. ‘Daily Mail’ Refers To “McDonald’s” As A JUNK FOOD Restaurant! {Wow – A Bit Stiff.}

This really is a Freudian Slip as opposed to a typo per se.

McDonald’s is NOT going to be amused — assuming they actually care about what is said in the ‘Daily Mail‘, though we know that folks in the U.S. sure do read it (e.g., Foreman of Trump’s jury).

Amazing that they don’t catch these howlers. A sad sign of the times — the need to continually RUSH story to the media.

I had to share this with YOU. Enjoy.

I Agree With ‘Cardinal Parolin’ That “Pope Francis'” Reforms, Whether Good Or Bad, Will Prevail.

Basically, what Cardinal Parolin & I are both saying is that it is unlikely that the Next Pope, even if he is NOT a ‘Francis II‘ (e.g., American Burke), will overturn ALL the reforms enacted by Francis. The best that might happen is that he might AGAIN (a la Benedict XVI) relax the barriers to celebrating the Latin Mass. I am sure the other reforms will remain on the books due to the respect that new popes pay to their predecessors. This has to do with the decorum exercised by modern popes. Quickly overturning prior reforms look undignified. And that is the rub.

IF the Next Pope is a traditionalist he is unlikely to have too much time. A non-Francis II will only get enough votes if he is seen as a compromise, caretaker pope — not likely to hang around for much more than 7 to 8 years. While that may sound like a lot, that probably isn’t enough leeway to OVERTURN Francis’ reforms without making Francis look real bad.

IF a Francis II is elected, the whole issue is moot. I have a feeling that Francis will hold another cardinal creating consistory in August or September this year & create 20 to 22 cardinal electors. IF he does that (& Parolin might already know of the pope’s plans) it is GAME OVER. The Next Pope will be Francis II — possibly even Tagle!

So, that is the lay of the land. If the next pope is NOT a Francis II we might see some slack cut on Latin Mass. But, that will be about it. But, as ever, I could be wrong.

I Finally Got ‘Windows 11’ For My MAIN, Desktop PC.

My MAIN desktop PC.

This was a BIG step for I & was nerve wracking. Though it went much better than I had HOPED, I am still ‘in shock’.

I am NOT big into changing my PC OS, i.e., upgrading Windows.

This is ONLY the 3rd Windows upgrade I have done in 15 years!

I kept Windows 7 (Professional) on my previous main PC for 12 years.

I only got Windows 10 when I finally broke down & got a NEW, main PC in November 2021. Today, I upgraded that from Windows 10 to Windows 11 23H2.

OK. I was NOT a total Windows 11 virgin. [I would NOT have upgraded my MAIN PC before I had tried out Windows 11. I am NOT like that.]

Yes, I got a mini PC with Windows 11 as my backup system so I could gain some familiarity with Windows 11. SMILE.

I used the ‘Widows 11 Upgrade Assistant‘ to do the upgrade.

I had thought that this Assistant checked your PC beforehand and kind of took you step-by-step as to the upgrade. Not so. As soon as I clicked ‘Download Now‘ the upgrade started. I wasn’t expecting that.

But, to my immense joy & relief there were NO glitches. Yes, we did about 6 RESTARTS. But, that is par for the course.

The entire upgrade took 53 minutes.

‘Unfrosted’ (2024) Movie On ‘Netflix’, With ‘Jerry Seinfeld’ Is V. Clever, A HOOT — But Also Rather Stupid.

Obviously Seinfeld is NOT going to get ‘it’ wrong — & how can you fail with him acting & DIRECTING this movie.

It, indubitably, is incredibly CLEVER. Wow. There is an episode that satirizes ‘January 6’ & ‘Mike Pence’ that is so, so, brillant. Not sure how many will get it.

‘I have read some books about ‘Battle Creek‘, Michigan, & as such had some vague familiarity with the cereal wars & in particular “Kellogg’s” (in days gone by).’I have read some books about ‘Battle Creek‘, Michigan, & as such had some vague familiarity with the cereal wars & in particular ‘Kelloggs’ (in days gone by).

I can’t stress how CLEVER this movie is. It is also a hoot.

But, it, IMO it is satire gone wild. Maybe that was the whole point. Over the top satire — & who better to do that than the past mater Seinfeld. However, I couldn’t help but thinking that it was ‘stupid’ — but in a very nice way.

It is definitely enjoyable — though towards the end you can’t wait for it to end. You should give it a spin. I am sure you will enjoy it — or at least large chunks of it. Look out for the ‘January 6’ spoof.

I remember this. I was 16 — in school in London. Yes, I bought the boxed set. I thought I might still have it. Alas, NO. There was a time in the early 1980s when I owned upwards of 600 LPs. Now I have about 40 — which I never play, though I have a cheap record player.

Enjoy.
