‘Jesus’, Of Course, Wasn’t White. He Was A Man Of Color, Probably Not As Colorful As Me. But, NOT White.

White ‘Jesus‘ was the creation of Italian, renaissance artist who were mainly familiar with white skinned folk.

Jesus was extremely unlikely to have been white.

A British term, which was often used to describe me, best characterizes Jesus. WOG. (Yes, golliwog comes from it.) WOG = a person from the Middle East.

Jesus was NOT black either. He was NOT from Africa. He was a Wog.

Tanned. A brown tint. Probably a few shades lighter than I, but definitely yet, a man of color.

I had known that most of my life. Jesus looked more like me than he looks like Trump. Period. Definitely not orange.

And he did NOT speak English, or for that matter Greek or Latin. Period.

I am ALL about being COLORFUL.

Being colorful is what defines me.

IF I wasn’t colorful I would be so, so boring.

Got a whole new vividly colorful wardrobe for 2024. My 18-year old daughter is not sure about it. She refuses to comment on it (though she is not usual reticent about sharing her views on our sartorial choices.

I like it. I hope it makes YOU smile. SMILE.

August 4, 2023

I saw the FIRST Fall Colors of 2023 a few days ago — on August 4th.

The above montage of 4 photos is from August 8, 2023.

We have had about a week of COLD nights, i.e., temps. falling into the 50s. Plus we have also had a fair amount of rain.

Those cold nights will do it. A tad early. But this sure has been a CRAZY Summer. Extreme heat, huge amount of rain & now cold nights early on in August.

Last year’s first fall color — but 18 days LATER.

Just into August — August 4. Caught me off-guard. I was not expecting this.

But, I should NOT have been surprised. If anything, IF I had given it any thought, I should have been looking for it. We had three nights, in a row, that were atypically cool — maybe even cold. I know, I had to wear my winter night gear & use two blankets (rather than the one). Yes, in my old age, I really feel the cold.

I know we can start getting foliage color, in central New Hampshire, in August. So this is not huge news per se. All I am willing to say is that it seems a tad early.

Another Selfie — Color Is Spot On & It Shows All The Empty Space Inside My Head.

Like it? Well you don’t have to. But, I like it. Color, for once, is spot on. Chocolate — that is I.

What is great is it shows all that empty void inside my head. Doesn’t that explain it all.

A Christmas Gift That ONLY An Author Can Give A Child — A Book Dedicated To Them.

All my kids have AT LEAST one book dedicated to them. This might, however, be Teischan’s THIRD!

She deserved to have this book dedicated to her. She insisted that I do a PROPER guide to the ‘Bold Coast‘ in color. She did not consider the photo book that I published in October 2022 a proper guide.

Well, I was glad to oblige. She had NO idea this book was coming. It was a surprise. Though she tends to be blasé about these things (being my daughter) she was pleased. Gives her bragging rights over her three other siblings. She enjoys that.

I lucked out getting it by Christmas. I only managed to publish it on December 20, 2022. But, it worked out. Getting it to her for Christmas was always the goal.

She like two others also has a book with her name on the title.

I Got Myself Another Christmas Present; At $20 It Was Cheap BUT Will Make Me Very Happy (& Content).

Sample pages from the new book — which is all in color.

I was hoping against hope that I would be able to get this book done by Christmas. I had had enough! It was TOO MUCH. My fault. 4 books, on the same subject, in 1 year is too much for I. I get BORED. {SMILE}

Yes, this was my 4th book of 2022 — & all were about the Bold Coast. But, it is DONE & I am glad. Now I have to do some books on other topics — Antipopes, comets & Buddhism. So, you have been warned.

In October, after I had finished ‘Cut to the Chase‘ I planned to have this book, i.e., the SOUVENIR in COLOR, done by early November — ready for those that might be interested in getting it as a Christmas present. I soon realized that this was going to be impossible to achieve. So, instead, I dashed off the 54-page photo-book: ‘In Color‘.

Then I went back to work on this Color Souvenir. As it happens it is the longest of my 5 Bold Coast books! It came in 28-pages over ‘budget’! What can I say? In the end I decided that ‘screw the end price‘ (which is totally contingent on page count) & decided to make it has ‘good’ as possible. So, 148-pages. It was a lot of work. Doing books in color requires additional work.

Well it is done. I can now take a break — maybe for 2 or 3 days! SMILE.

New Hampshire’s FIRST 2022 Unmistakable Fall Foliage.

To be honest the colors have been out for a few days. I saw some definite color, at ‘The Castle‘, this Saturday. I was going to take a picture but was distracted.

I made sure I captured these this morning.

Nothing unusual about having fall color this late in August!

We can start seeing some color in mid-July — as we did last year (as proven by this photo).

Though we are in another heatwave the temps plummet at night — down to the 50Fs. That will kick in color. So, a heads up.

I will, of course, per my wont, keep you posted on New Hampshire’s Fall Foliage. That is my DUTY. SMILE.

New Hampshire’s FIRST 2021 Fall Foliage

by Anura Guruge
on July 18, 2021

Took this picture Sunday morning, July 18, 2021.

It is on our road (i.e., ‘Prospect Mountain‘). I had first noticed it a few days ago. I waited for the color to mature.

Well, the nights have been sure cold enough. This, i.e., 1st foliage in mid-July, is not that unusual.

But, now I have put the marker down. Drawn the line in the sand.
